Import Functions

        Importing from casual files

Files can be imported in the formats *.csv, *.xml, *.xlsx and *.txt.

In the menu item “Data Type” you should then select which data it is.

This should be a list of orders, a list of security information or a list of account transactions.

The program now tries to assign a data field to known headings (green marking). If this doesn't work automatically, you have to manually assign the data type to the respective row. Clicking on “Click here” opens a menu where you can choose from a list of unassigned data types.

Once all the necessary data fields have been assigned, the data can be read in by the program.

        Importing from Portfolio Performance

To import data from Portfolio Performance, it is necessary to save the account transactions, securities transactions and master data in a separate folder.

To import this data, select this folder from the import Portfolio Performance menu and the contents will be read in by the program.

        Importing from modified program files

The user data for orders, transactions and stock info are stored by the program in the “Data” folder as *.xml files and are usually read in when the program starts.

If the respective *.xml file does not exist, an attempt is made to read an Excel file *.xlsx.

With a trick, these files can be modified quite easily.

You can use the program to export the respective files to Excel and have the files at hand in a readable format. The content of these files can now be modified in Excel.

If the program finds these Excel *.xlsx files instead of the *.xml files when it starts, they will be read in.
